Looks pretty cool. Portable Ops was a lot of fun and a good story within the MGS universe. This one apparently has 4 player co-op. I also dig Big Boss's new almost samurai looking armor.

MONKEY ISLAND IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!





"LucasArts got slammed by fans of its adventure games when the publisher decided to discontinue their adventure game line. Today LucasArts announced plans to return to one of their most popular adventure game series, Monkey Island. Our sister site Joystiq has posted up word that the the company will release Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition , a downloadable graphical revamp of the game. It will also have new voiceover tracks and a new musical score.

But that's not all. LucasArts has also teamed up with Telltale Games (made up of a number of former LucasArts adventure game creators) to release an all new five part downloadable episodic Tales of Monkey Island game. No release date for that game was announced."


There will also be a SPECIAL EDITION of Monkey Island 1 released for the Xbox 360. It will have a new score, a new "hint system", hi def graphics, and full voice over. Not sure about the voice over, but still cool stuff.

First off...a Trigun Movie?! This was on AICN.com:

"Anime Expo, held July 2-5, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, announced that the event will be hosting Yasuhiro Nightow (creator of the Trigun manga) and Satoshi Nishimura (director of the Trigun TV series and Fighting Spirit, storyboard on Black Lagoon) as guests of honor.


Mr. Nightow and Mr. Nishimura will be joined by two additional members of the highly anticipated 2009 slated TRIGUN movie team, Mr. Shigeru Kitayama and Mr. Noriyuki Jinguji, for a TRIGUN movie panel in which they will talk a bout the various behind-the-scene episodes, from days way back when, and about the experiences they had while in the production stages of the newest TRIGUN movie as well as key points regarding the upcoming film."


On the Team Fortress 2 front, The Sniper is the new upcoming update.

About a year ago I posted here about this movie, and how badass it sounded. A space pilot crashes in Nordic period Earth and joins a tribe of vikings to hunt down the creature that brought down his ship.

This movie ROCKED! The cast includes Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ), John Hurt (Hellboy, Alien, V for Vendetta), Sophia Myles (Tristan & Isolde, Underworld), and Ron Perlman (Hellboy). Caviezel plays the pilot and only survivor of his ship that crashes. The rest of the cast play the vikings. The movie moves pretty fast, but develops the character of Kainan really well. Finding out the truth of his people and the creature. The vikings themselves become likable and interesting. It's awesome also to see Hurt and Perlman in full viking gear fighting each other (they play rival clan leaders)!!!!

The creature is quite possibly one of the coolest creatures I've seen since Pitch Black and Brotherhood of the Wolf. It's vicious, fast, extremely smart, and looks incredibly badass when it's "lit up". There are a couple "flaws" with the movie, but it's a very entertaining movie nontheless.

It's out on DVD on May 19th.

In case you're worried that Dolph and JCVD are going to be all buddy-buddy in this latest installment in the surprisingly durable franchise, I'll just cut to the chase and introduce you to the plotline for this film, which will hopefully punch us in the face sometime later this year:

A crazed Chechen nationalist, BASAYEV, seizes control of Chernobyl, site of the infamous nuclear meltdown, and threatens to unleash a radioactive cloud unless his nationalist blackmail demands are met.

LUC DEVEREAUX (Jean-Claude Van Damme) joins a U.S. team of revived UniSoldiers secretly held in deep storage. Their mission: retake Chernobyl and disable explosives that will unleash the radioactive clouds. Luc is surprised when he finds one of the reactivated UniSoldiers is a clone of his old Sergeant, ANDREW SCOTT (Dolph Lundgren). But the cloned Andrew has no recollection of Luc.

As the team furiously battles its way into the Chernobyl plant, they are caught off guard. Using a mind-control chip, Baseyev turns Andrew against his own comrades. Now surrounded, wounded, and out-numbered, Luc must battle Andrew, and save the world.
